Ted Hoornstra grew-up in Iowa, graduated from Luther College with degrees in Business & Sports Management, and arrived in Florida in 1997.

He's married to Leanne and has two girls, Sydney & Kate. Together, they live in the Old Northeast neighborhood of St. Petersburg, Florida.

Prior to becoming a Financial Advisor, Ted was a television Sportscaster. In 1995, he won an NATAS Emmy Award for his coverage of the Iditarod Sled Dog Race in Alaska. His love of sports and competition continues with his support of the University of Iowa Hawkeyes and Tampa Bay Rays.

As an investment professional, Ted began his career on Wall Street with Prudential Securities. After a merger with Wachovia Securities, he was hired by Bank of America, which later took over Merrill Lynch. Through all the changes within the investment world, Ted has found a comfortable home for his client's assets at J.W.Cole Financial, who's home office is located in Tampa, Florida.

Ted holds a variety of professional designations and is well versed in a number of financial disciplines. For securities investing, his licenses include Series 7, Series 63, and Series 65. For life insurance, Ted holds both Health and Life licenses, as well as Long Term Care designation.

Ted is the founder of the Hoornstra Financial Group, where his team of dedicated professionals strive to provide a high degree of personal service. By sharing his investment philosophies and matching that to his clients' goals, he delivers constructive plans and designs personalized strategies through different types of market cycles.
